Face Me
"Face your front" means many things in Nigeria. "Mind your business", "Look where you are going", "Look ahead"... That's what I hope to do with this blog. All of the above.....
For years, I have written my thoughts in Facebook statues of varying lengths and had people find what I had to say to be interesting, or dumb, but nonetheless readable. So I thought, maybe I should blog.
So Face Me... Who am I?
I am a bicoastal married Nigerian/American, father, writer, actor, IT developer, NYCer, who now lives in Southern California. I grew up formatively in Northboro Mass, Jamaica Queens NY and Surulere Lagos Nigeria. But there were many stops in between, in and around. Too many to list, but all affected who I became.
My schooling varied almost a much as my homes. From the only black kid in Proctor Elementary school in Northboro MA in the 70s, to the privileged Nigerian schools, Corona School Ikoyi and St. Gregory's College, to NYC public schools like PS166 (Astoria) and IS 109 (Jamaica Queens), then to elite American prep school, Philips Exeter Academy and finally to largest university in West Africa, Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria Nigeria.
My thoughts, tastes and interests are as varied as my careers, homes and schools attended...
So Face Your Front!
And let's see, what we see......
